SAMR | New National Standards, Biscuits and Bread

On November 26, 2021, The State Administration for Market Regulation issued the National Standard Announcement No. 14 of 2021, including the revised version of "GB/T 20980-2021 General Rules for Biscuit Quality" and "GB/T 20981-2021 General Rules for Bread Quality". Relevant companies marked theses 2 standards on the product label as a product implementation standard.

At present, the 2 standard texts have not yet been issued. Judging from the approval drafts of the two standards in 2020, in order to adapt to the development of the industry, the revision of GB/T 20980 includes the modification of the definition of biscuits, changing the description of raw materials, adding the definition and requirements of bread crumbs; the revision of GB/T 20981 included the addition of definitions and related requirements for frozen bread and rusks.
